  I am just preparing to order firewood from Blue Barn and thought I would check the reviews. Anyone who is expecting to burn wood in the same year it was cut is dreaming! I have been buying from Blue Barn for several years with the exception of 2014 when I was too late and he was sold out. (I bought from another local supplier - paid for two cords and got about one and a half delivered). Blue Barn wood is excellent in my experience. Good wood, the right size and full measure. Delivered and off-loaded exactly where I wanted. Of course It has to be stacked properly and left for at least a year to get to the burning stage. An indicator of value is the size of the huge stack of logs in their yard which is completely sold quickly. Blue Barn is GREAT.

  November 2010 Firewood The product that they are selling is not aged well at all. After a lifetime of wood burning, I lapsed and was trying to get out of it. I needed to fall back on it and this place was recommended by a friend. The wood was advertised as being in logs for 8 months and split for 3 - 4 months. Also that he would sell a full cord (128 cu. ft.). The wood that was delivered was as advertised when stacked. I had expected a bit more. I was satisfied with the quantity. The quality however was not acceptable. The wood was advertised as "what people burn this time of year." Being a seasoned wood burner, this is false. If you are a wood burner, you buy your wood a year in advance. A more accurate statement would be this is what people are buying this time of year. Regardless, the product is impossible to burn since it is so wet and since delivery has all molded. All the indication points to the severe possibility that the wood was split not much sooner than delivery. As I said, if you have the time to let it dry, then this was the best firewood deal. However, if you are planning to burn it now "this time of year", then don't buy from Blue Barn Farms in the fall. Let them keep their wood and age it properly as a product. So how do you return firewood for a refund? You don't. Be warned, he will ask for cash when he knows that the product is poor. Last time that I trust the NS certified firewood list. I am stuck with this wood or I would recommend a better seller in the fall for firewood.

  Thanks for the review I ordered wood from these folks,only to have the man come out with a cord on his truck and not dump it. Apparently he was not comfortable were he was to dump it(4inches from his truck) When called his (assuming wife) said if he's not going to dump it he won't. I guess he is partial to his firewood and is out the money he could of made. his partner told us not to bother calling back. Well glad he didn't after reading this review and talking to a few neighbours on the road. Very strange to run a business like that. BEWARE
